Daniel J. Kirkpatrick, DDS grew up in Saint Charles, Missouri. Dr. Kirkpatrick was inspired to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at a young age while shadowing a local oral surgery group practice in his hometown. He was impressed by how oral and maxillofacial surgeons are highly skilled and trained to provide a wide range of unique surgical procedures with or without anesthesia. Dr. Kirkpatrick treats each patient with an individualized plan and prioritizes comfort during and after surgery.

Education and Residency

Dr. Kirkpatrick earned his bachelor’s degree with honors at Missouri State University. After his undergraduate work, he was accepted to University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry where he obtained his Decorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). Following dental school, Dr. Kirkpatrick completed a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Cincinnati. He concluded his training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, through a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After residency, Dr. Kirkpatrick provided treatment in western Pennsylvania prior to having the opportunity to purchase Cranberry Oral Surgery in January of 2024.

Professional Interest

Dr. Kirkpatrick’s professional interests include wisdom teeth extractions, placing dental implants, providing general anesthesia, bone grafting, dentoalveolar surgery, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, reconstructive surgery, and treating benign cysts and tumors of the head and neck, obstructive sleep apnea, and temporomandibular joint disorders. Dr. Kirkpatrick is extensively trained in using virtual surgical planning and 3D printing to optimize results for orthognathic, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and facial reconstructive surgeries as well as dental implants.

Out of the Office

When out of the office, Dr. Kirkpatrick devotes most of his time to his wife and son. His wife, Emily, originally from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and special education. Dr. Kirkpatrick is dedicated to a healthy and active lifestyle. During his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, cooking and golfing.
